When I got the call from the studio to do a special on Aotearoa, I was giddy with joy. Finally a country I hadn't heard much about. The crew and I on Cities and Countries: The Best of the Best didn’t know exactly what to expect. Sure, most of us knew that a few movies had been filmed there in the early 2000's, but we didn’t know anything about the culture or history. When I got handed a copy of the Travelers World: Aotearoa I instantly opened it to learn about this country.
With a rich past and very interesting system of government, Aotearoa is certainly a land worth learning about. The way the population has a real respect for the environment is a stunning example of how the rest of the world can adapt to the environment we live in, without absolutely destroying it. The use of 100% green energy is very helpful to the environment, providing the population (and me!) with a very fresh-feeling break from the pollution of other countries around the world.
After the trip, in which I filmed a long series of videos, I was incredibly impressed with what I saw. I decided to create this website chronicling all the information on Aotearoa that I could gather. I dive into the history of the country, the economic systems, the government and much more.
